Overview
Most free file tools upload your documents to someone else's server. Zipizy does the work on your own device instead, in the browser or in a Windows desktop app.
It's my open-source project, MIT licensed, so the code is there to read.

Engineering
Private by design
Files never leave the device: every tool runs locally, and most of them work offline in the desktop app.
Heavy work off the main thread
PDF and image processing runs in Web Workers, so the interface stays responsive.
A careful desktop shell
The Electron app keeps Node.js out of the pages.
